Ingredients:
- 1 lb sirloin steak, thinly sliced against the grain
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp toasted sesame oil
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 4 cups day-old cooked jasmine rice, chilled
- 1 cup frozen peas and carrots, thawed
- 1/2 cup white onion, finely diced
- 3 tbsp unsalted butter, divided
Instructions:
- In a bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, sesame oil, garlic powder, and pepper. Toss in the sliced beef and let it marinate for at least 15 minutes.
- Ensure the chilled rice is broken up by hand to remove any large clumps.
- Preheat the Blackstone griddle to medium-high heat (approx. 375°F/190°C) and apply a thin layer of oil.
- On one side of the griddle, sear the beef quickly until it develops a mahogany-colored crust (about 2-3 minutes), then move it to the cool zone or a plate.
- In the center of the griddle, melt 1 tbsp of butter and sauté the onions, carrots, and peas until the onions are softened.
