Ingredients:
- All-purpose flour
- Granulated sugar
- Baking powder
- Fine sea salt
- Whole milk
- Large eggs, beaten
- Unsalted butter, melted and divided
- Pure vanilla extract
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Position your rack in the center. Line an 18x13 inch half-sheet pan with parchment paper, leaving a small overhang on the sides.
- Pour 2 tablespoons of the melted butter onto the parchment paper and spread it evenly to the edges to create a 'fry-bake' effect for the bottom crust.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. In a separate jug, combine the milk, eggs, vanilla, and the remaining melted butter.
- Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients and pour in the wet mixture. Whisk gently until just combined; ensure there are no large dry pockets, but small lumps are acceptable.
- Pour the batter into the prepared sheet pan, spreading it evenly into the corners with a spatula.
- Bake for 15 minutes or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Let rest for 5 minutes before slicing into 12 squares.
