Ingredients:

  • 8 oz salami, sliced into rounds
  • 8 oz prosciutto, ribboned
  • 4 oz sharp cheddar, cubed
  • 4 oz brie or camembert, sliced into wedges
  • 4 oz manchego or gouda, sliced into triangles
  • 1 cup blackberries
  • 1 cup green grapes
  • 1 cup pomegranate arils
  • 2 cups assorted crackers (water crackers, charcoal crackers, or pretzel sticks)
  • 1/2 cup candied pecans or walnuts
  • 1 small plastic skeleton or skull
  • 1 cup candy corn or dark chocolate pieces
  • 2 tbsp fig jam or raspberry preserves

Instructions:

  1. Place the plastic skeleton or skull in the center or slightly off-center of the board to create a focal point.
  2. Position ramekins containing the jam and nuts near the skeleton to act as anchors that keep other ingredients from shifting.
  3. Arrange the cubed cheddar, brie wedges, and manchego triangles in small clusters around the anchor points.
  4. Fold the prosciutto into ribbons and overlap the salami rounds to create a winding river of meat across the board.
  5. Tuck crackers and pretzel sticks into the gaps to create borders or walls around the meats and cheeses.
  6. Fill the remaining open holes with blackberries and green grapes.
  7. Scatter pomegranate arils over the brie and around the skeleton to simulate blood droplets.
  8. Sprinkle candy corn and dark chocolate in the last few open spaces for a pop of Halloween color.
