Ingredients:

  • 680g (1.5 lbs) chicken breast, cut into 1 inch pieces
  • 32g (1/4 cup) cornstarch
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp neutral oil
  • 115g (1/3 cup) honey
  • 3 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tsp lemon zest
  • 2 tbsp low sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tsp toasted sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 tsp fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 green onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 tsp sesame seeds

Instructions:

  1. Pat the chicken pieces completely dry with paper towels before tossing them in the cornstarch, salt, and pepper.
  2. Heat the oil in your pan over medium high heat until it shimmers, then add the chicken in a single layer. Cook for 3 to 4 minutes per side until the edges are golden brown and crispy.
  3. Whisk the honey, lemon juice, zest, soy sauce, sesame oil, garlic, and ginger in a small bowl while the chicken cooks.
  4. Pour the sauce mixture directly into the pan with the chicken and stir constantly for 1 to 2 minutes until the sauce bubbles and thickens into a glossy glaze.
  5. Remove from heat immediately and sprinkle with sliced green onions and sesame seeds.
