Ingredients:

  • 28 oz Beef or Pork Lil Smokies (two 14 oz packages)
  • 12 oz Chili Sauce
  • 12 oz Grape Jelly
  • 1/4 cup Dark Brown Sugar
  • 1/2 tsp Cayenne pepper

Instructions:

  1. In a 6-quart slow cooker, whisk together the chili sauce, grape jelly, brown sugar, and cayenne pepper until combined. Note that the jelly will liquefy further as it heats.
  2. Gently fold the cocktail sausages into the sauce until every piece is thoroughly coated.
  3. Set the slow cooker to LOW and cook for 2 to 3 hours. The sausages should be plump and the sauce should bubble slightly at the edges.
  4. About 20 minutes before serving, remove the lid to allow excess moisture to evaporate, which helps the glaze reach a thick, lacquered consistency.
