Ingredients:

  • 1 lb (450g) fresh green beans, trimmed and rinsed
  • 2 tbsp (30ml) extra virgin olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
  • 0.5 tsp (3g) kosher salt
  • 0.25 tsp (1.5g) freshly cracked black pepper
  • 1 tsp (5ml) fresh lemon juice
  • 0.25 cup (30g) sliced almonds

Instructions:

  1. Wash the fresh green beans in cold water and trim off the stem ends.
  2. For the Master Sauté: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add beans and cook for 5-7 minutes until blistered.
  3. Add sliced garlic, salt, and pepper during the last 2 minutes of cooking to prevent burning.
  4. If using almonds, add them to the pan and toss until lightly toasted.
  5. Finish by drizzling with fresh lemon juice before serving.
