Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 tbsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 3.5 lb baby back pork ribs
  • 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp liquid smoke
  • 1 1/2 cups BBQ sauce

Instructions:

  1. Pat the ribs dry with paper towels. Remove the silver skin membrane from the back of the ribs using a butter knife.
  2. Combine brown sugar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper in a small bowl. Coat both sides of the ribs generously, pressing the rub into the meat.
  3. Place the seasoned ribs in the slow cooker, curling them into a circle or cutting them into sections if necessary. Pour apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, and liquid smoke around the ribs, ensuring you do not pour over the spice rub.
  4. Cover and cook on High for 6 hours or Low for 8-10 hours, until the meat begins to pull away from the bone ends by about half an inch.
  5. Transfer ribs to a baking sheet and brush with BBQ sauce. Place under the broiler for approximately 5 minutes until the glaze is thick, tacky, and caramelized.
