Ingredients:
- 1 cup mayonnaise
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
- 1 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 tbsp granulated sugar
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 1/4 tsp salt
Instructions:
- Melt the unsalted butter in the microwave in 15 second intervals until liquid. Note: This prevents the butter from popping or burning.
- Let the butter sit for 2 minutes to cool slightly. until it's warm but not steaming.
- In a medium mixing bowl, combine the mayonnaise, melted butter, and tomato paste.
- Whisk vigorously until the mixture is a uniform, pale orange color.
- Sift in the granulated sugar, garlic powder, paprika, and salt. Note: Sifting prevents clumps of garlic powder.
- Whisk again until the sugar granules have dissolved and the sauce is completely smooth.
- Transfer the sauce to an airtight glass jar.
- Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes until the sauce is chilled and thick.
