Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup (150g) packed brown sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp (5ml) vanilla extract
- 1 cup (125g) all-purpose flour
- 1/3 cup (30g) black cocoa powder
- 1/2 tsp (3g) baking soda
- 1/4 tsp (1.5g) salt
- 1/2 cup (90g) orange and purple M&Ms or Halloween-themed chocolate chips
- 1 tbsp (10g) colorful Halloween sprinkles
- 12-16 candy eyeballs
Instructions:
- Heat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Cream the softened butter and brown sugar together until smooth and velvety.
- Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until fully incorporated.
- Sift the flour, black cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt into the wet ingredients. Mix on low speed just until the white streaks of flour disappear.
- Fold in the Halloween candies and sprinkles using a spatula.
- Scoop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the sheet, spacing them 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 9-11 minutes until the edges are set but the centers remain slightly soft.
- Press candy eyeballs into the tops of the cookies immediately after removing from the oven while they are still hot.
